10.3. Information in citations

 

 

 

 With practice, you can tell quite a lot about a case from its citation. Since each law reports series only reports certain cases, you can often deduce the geographical jurisdiction of the court and its level in the hierarchy of courts.

Analyse the citations listed below and decide the extent to which each of the cases would bind the New South Wales Court of Appeal. Click on each citation for feedback.
