6.6. Common problems with basic search terms

 

 

 

Suppose you want to search a database to find all the cases which deal with a specific legal topic - let's say, for example, the defence of provocation to a murder charge.

You might search the database using a key word, a phrase, or connected words.

provocation - key word

"provocation in murder cases" - a phrase

provocation and murder - connected words
