In the printed report of a case, the abbreviation of the series in which it is published is shown at the top of each page. The highlighted reference below indicates that Lynch's case is published in volume 25 of the New South Wales Law Reports.

You should note that some decisions are reported in more than one reports series. For example, Lynch v Lynch is also reported in the Australian Torts Reports (Aust Torts Reps).
