(a) The members of a firm (partners) are individually liable for the consequences of their own acts, but they are not liable for the unlawful acts of the other members of their firm, even if those acts are done in the course of the business.
(b) The members of a firm (partners) are each liable for the wrongful acts carried out either by themselves or the other members of their firm while acting in the course of the business, whether or not those acts are lawful.
