1.2. Using a case study to explore business organisations

This module gives an overview of the different types of business organisation commonly encountered in Australia. You will learn how each type of organisation is created, regulated and operated. You will also learn the important differences between them.

The various organisations and the related rules are explained by reference to a case study. The case concerns a plumber, Edward Delgardo, his growing business and his changing needs.  You will be told the more detailed facts of the case-study at the start of each section.

Read the facts carefully before you go on to answer the questions. If you keep these facts in mind, they will help you to understand the importance of what is being discussed. Then, by answering the questions and reading the feedback carefully, you will learn the essential points about the different types of business organisations in Australia.
