Albert needs various items of office equipment, including three computers, a good quality printer, a coffee maker, desks and chairs. Because such items become obsolete quickly, he does not want to purchase them and then have to dispose of them and get replacements when the time comes. He would rather hire them.

Which of the following statements is correct?

(a) It is possible to hire any kind of chattel that is durable, that is to say, not consumed by use. The things Albert has in mind to lease are durable in this sense.

(b) It is possible to hire any kind of chattel that is durable, that is to say, not consumed by use. However the things Albert has in mind to hire are not durable in this sense.
