5.5.1. The administration of government

 

 

 

The administration of government is a huge and complex task.  The relatively small numbers of elected members of a government could not themselves carry out all of the necessary tasks.  The detailed work of government administration is instead carried out by other bodies: the public service, statutory officers and statutory bodies.  You should note that statutory officers and bodies are considered to be part of the executive branch of government.  Click on the list below for more information on each body.
