2.3. Jade databases

The Judgements and Decisions Enhanced (Jade) databases are a free source of Australian legal materials.  The Jade databases are organised according to both ‘jurisdiction’ and 'type of materials'.  Look at the illustration from the Jade homepage below. On the left of the 'browser' screen is a list of databases containing ‘judgements’ (case law), legislation and ‘other’ materials.  On the right are listed the available databases by jurisdiction.  You can select the most appropriate databases to search for the materials you want.
