1. (a) That's right. On the facts, it seems likely that B's conduct amounts to either the tort of battery, or to Negligence. Pushing forcefully past a person might amount to physical contact with a hostile motive sufficient to amount to battery. Alternatively, the risk of causing harm to a person by pushing forcefully past them is clearly foreseeable, and B should have guarded against this harm. His failure to do so is a breach of the duty of care owed to the foreman.
