(a)  When a contract is entered into, legal obligations are created immediately, even before performance is due.

(b)  The normal way of discharging contractual obligations is for the parties to carry out the promises contained in the contract.

(c) If contractual obligations are not discharged by performance, there is a breach of contract which makes the legal obligations of the contracting parties void.
