(a)  Australian governments can be broadly described as ‘republican’. 

(b)  The various constitutions in Australia are largely ‘unwritten’ constitutions, as in the United Kingdom.

(c)   The constitution of the Commonwealth was enacted by the Australian states at the time they agreed to form the Commonwealth.

(d)   Although constitutions are ‘foundational’ laws, it is possible for the relevant governments to amend them and change their provisions.
