Cost of repairs or restoration

To estimate the cost of repairs of restoration, the court must assess the reasonable cost of restoring the property to the state it was in before it was damaged - or the cost of providing the plaintiff with a reasonably suitable replacement.

Losses consequent upon the damage are also recoverable (such as the cost of accommodation while a house is undergoing repair).
