(a) That's wrong.

You were asked to select the incorrect statement.

It is true that, even after the Commonwealth of Australia was formed in 1901, Australia remained a colony, subject to the laws of Britain until 1986.

It is also correct to say that, to the present day, the Australian Commonwealth and states have the same constitutional monarch as the United Kingdom, although this does not mean that there is any political unity between Australia and the United Kingdom.

However it is wrong to say that, while Australia is now a sovereign state, it is still possible to take a case on appeal from the High Court of Australia to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council in England.  The right of appeal from the High Court of Australia to the Privy Council came to an end in 1986.
