Rule 2.

Where there is a contract for the sale of specific goods and the seller is bound to do something to the goods for the purpose of putting them into a deliverable state the property [ownership] does not pass until such thing be done and the buyer has notice thereof.

An example of this situation would be if Albert agreed to buy 10 ovens from a supplier, the particular ovens purchased being specifically identified at the time of the sale, but where the ovens need to be wrapped in protective packaging for transportation.

In these circumstances, ownership of the ovens would pass to Albert only after the ovens had been properly wrapped by the seller.
