This term is used to describe the property used as the basis of the security agreement. In our examples thus far, we have had in mind tangible chattels as the collateral, such as motor vehicles, watercraft, aircraft, crops, livestock and other goods. However intangible chattels can also be used as collateral and this possibility will be dealt with below.
