No, you have not chosen the best answer.  It’s true that you can easily search for and find information on almost everything.  But knowing what to look for, and being able to place what you find in context, and evaluate its significance, requires a background knowledge of the broad subject area.

This is why an introductory subject in law is useful.  It will provide you with an overview of what law is, and what functions is has.  It will provide a framework within which you can work to identify, find and understand particular rules.  You will become familiar with examples of how the law works in practical situations, and these examples will help to to identify similar situations as they arise and deal properly with them.

It is only with this store of background knowledge that the ability to search for new information becomes really useful.
