There are various enforcement provisions in the Australian Consumer Law. Some contraventions of the ACL are made a criminal offence, with prescribed fines. Some contraventions are made punishable with a civil pecuniary penalty. There is also a range of private remedies, which include making a transaction void, making a refund of money, the payment of damages, etc.
