Chapter 4 of the ACL makes certain contraventions of the ACL offences, punishable by payment of a fine. Separate sections deal with different types of conduct, and prescribe the maximum fines payable. The maximum fines are substantial, typically $1,100,000 for corporations, and $220,000 for individuals.
